If your customer's PC is Office Ready (this means it has an office image pre-installed), all you need to do is sell an MLK at point of PC sale, or within the 60-day trial period. An Office Ready PC already has the Microsoft Office suites pre-installed, so there is no need for any installation by either you or your customer.
PLEASE NOTE: When you buy this MLK (Media Licence Kit) you will receive a box with a CD key only. Your box will NOT contain a media disc. You will need to purchase an OPK Media Kit (OEM Pre-Installation Kit) to use the software.
2007 Microsoft Office system Service Pack 1 (SP1) was released to the System Builder Channel in January 2008. Unlike other Service Pack releases, Microsoft will not be distributing SP1 on CD through the OEM Distributor channel. Instead, SP1 for 2007 Office will be available through the OEM Partner Center (OPC) web site at www.microsoft.com.
System Builders who already have the OEM Pre-installation Kit (OPK) Master Kit for 2007 Microsoft Office System do not need another copy of the OPK Master Kit to receive SP1. Instead, they should go to the OPC and download SP1 for pre-installation. If they need SP1 on CD, they may also order it from the OPC website.
